- WINTER PARKING RATES DISCUSSED

Recommendations for Vail’s winter parking rates and policies for the 2010/11 winter season will return to the Town Council for ratification on Sept. 7. The parking discussion is listed sixth on the meeting agenda which begins at 6 p.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers, 75 S. Frontage Rd. Public comments are encouraged.

The Vail Town Council has scheduled a special meeting beginning at 3 p.m. Aug. 31 to discuss transferring the location of a Vail Resorts’ skier drop-off requirement that is currently under construction on the First Chair development site at 600 West Lionshead Circle.
- GALLEGOS MEMORIAL PARKING

The Town of Vail is asking community members who plan to attend the Gerald Gallegos memorial service at the Ford Amphitheater Saturday to park in the Vail Village parking structure. Shuttle buses will be used to transport attendees to and from the event. The Ford Park lots will be closed to parking throughout the weekend to accommodate the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge.
- TREE RELOCATION CONTINUES TODAY

A 50 foot tall spruce tree weighing approximately 50,000 pounds will be relocated from the LionsHead Transit Center construction site to the Vail golf course on Aug. 24.
- TREE RELOCATION UNDERWAY IN LIONSHEAD

In preparation for construction of the first phase of the LionsHead Transit Center, the Town of Vail has arranged to relocate ten spruce trees from the construction site which is located on the north side of the parking garage. Work will begin Wednesday (Aug. 4) and will take three to four days to complete.
